Connect your bank to receive invoice payments
TL;DR
Owners and admins open Settings → Payouts, choose Individual (sole prop) or a registered business, complete Stripe identity and bank details, then wait until card payments show Active. Horse-owner card Pay then deposits to your bank — not Barnflow’s.

Card Pay on invoices sends funds to your Stripe connected account and bank — not Barnflow’s. Until card payments are Active, horse owners cannot pay invoices by card. This is separate from Settings → Plan (your Barnflow subscription).
How to connect your bank
- Sign in as an owner or admin.
- Open Settings → Payouts (
/app/settings/payouts). You can also open Settings from the breadcrumb, then Payouts. - If you have not started yet, choose how the barn is legally set up, then click Set up payouts. This is sent to Stripe once and cannot be changed later.
- Individual / sole proprietor — you operate under your own name. Stripe collects SSN and personal details. No EIN.
- Registered business — LLC, corporation, or sole prop with a DBA. Stripe collects legal name and tax ID (EIN, or SSN if you pick Sole proprietorship in Stripe).
- Nonprofit or Government entity if that applies.
- If an account already exists, use Continue in Stripe (legal shape is already set).
- In the Stripe form, enter the matching identity fields and the bank account that should receive funds (routing and account numbers, or Stripe’s bank picker).
- Submit. Stay on Payouts until Card payments shows Active. Stripe may email you if more documents are needed.
- Horse owners can then use Pay on portal invoices. Money hits your Stripe balance, then payouts to that bank on Stripe’s schedule.
Do not upload KYC documents inside other Barnflow screens — Stripe owns identity and bank collection.
Example
Willow’s owner is a sole proprietor. She opens Settings → Payouts, chooses Individual / sole proprietor, completes Stripe with her SSN and farm checking account, waits until Active, then a horse owner pays an invoice by card. Funds go to Willow’s bank, not Barnflow.

Who can do this
Owners and admins only. Managers can still send invoices and record check/cash or mark paid.
Fees and Plan vs boarding income
- Stripe’s processing fees are charged on your connected account. Barnflow does not take an extra cut on invoice card payments in this release.
- Invoice Pay → your Stripe account → your bank.
- Settings → Plan → Barnflow subscription billed to StableSync LLC — not boarding income.
If payouts are not ready
Portal Pay is blocked with a message to contact the barn. You can still send invoices, take checks/cash, and mark paid.
Refunds
Refunds and card disputes are in your Stripe Dashboard (also reachable from Payouts). Barnflow’s ledger updates from Stripe webhooks.
