Property map guide
Open Stalls, then choose Map (Property Map). Pick the property you are working if you manage more than one barn.
Operate vs edit layout
- Operate — place and move horses, use morning tools, open the unit drawer.
- Edit layout — rearrange unit tiles on the canvas; apply templates or copy another barn’s layout.
Switch modes from the map toolbar. Horse drops are blocked when capacity is full (you will see blocked feedback on the unit).
Unassigned tray
Horses without a stall appear in the unassigned tray (count badge pulses when any are waiting). Drag a horse onto an empty or multi-capacity unit to assign. Undo appears briefly after a successful move so you can reverse a mis-drop.
Search and spotlight
Use map search to find a horse or unit. Matching tiles stay bright; others dim. The map scrolls/zooms toward the first match so you can find someone fast on a large board.
Unit drawer
Click a unit tile to open the side drawer:
- Horses currently on that unit (photo chip when available)
- Owner / contact hints when linked
- Care and health attention for those horses
- Assign or unassign without leaving the map
- Links into horse and client records
Morning strip
The top morning strip filters the map for the day:
- Empty stalls
- Unassigned horses
- Care due today / missed care
- Health due
- Combined alerts
Tap a filter to focus the board, then clear it to return to full view.
Stickers and heatmaps
- Stickers (toggle): small badges on tiles for care today, missed care, or health due. Preference is remembered in this browser.
- Heatmap: off, occupancy fill, or care load so busy aisles stand out at a glance.
Intake mode
Turn on Intake when you are placing new or returned horses:
- Empty units are highlighted
- Full units dim
- Click an empty stall (or use the drawer) to assign from the unassigned tray
Canvas background
In layout tools, pick a sketch background (dots, aisle floor, barn courtyard). Sketch preference is stored per property in this browser — it does not change saved unit positions.
Layout templates
In Edit layout, apply a template to bulk-position units:
- Single aisle
- Double aisle
- U courtyard
- Grid
Templates set map coordinates for existing units. Review positions and drag fine-tune afterward.
Copy layout
Copy layout copies unit positions from one property to another in the same organization:
- Choose source property (already arranged)
- Choose target property
- Units match by name when possible; remaining units fill remaining slots
Useful when you open a second barn with the same stall naming scheme.
Horse photos on tiles
When a horse has a profile photo, the map shows a chip/avatar on the stall (single stalls emphasize photo + name; multi-horse units use compact chips).
Tips
- Scope the Location switcher first so you are not looking at the wrong barn.
- Pastures accept multiple horses; do not force a second horse onto a capacity-1 stall.
- Blocked drops pulse — free a stall or choose a multi-capacity unit.
- Realtime: when enabled, horse moves from another tab can refresh the map.
